2023 Regulations concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail (RID) – effective from 1 January 2023

2023 RID Regulations

Published by the Intergovernmental Organisation for International Carriage by Rail

The provisions of the RID Regulations apply to the international carriage of dangerous goods by rail on the territories of contracting countries – throughout Europe and a number of other countries e.g. Syria and Tunisia.

Under European Union (EU) legislation, all EU Member States are required to apply RID to national rail carriage operations, subject to certain domestic derogations.

UK national transport regulations also require compliance with RID, again subject to certain UK domestic derogations.
